King Mswati III Celebrates 56th Birthday, Affirms Commitment to Nation
His Majesty King Mswati III marked his 56th birthday with a heartfelt message of dedication and unity to the people of Eswatini during a celebration at Mankayane Sports Ground. Speaking to the gathered crowd, the King reassured the nation of his unwavering commitment to lead with the best interests of emaSwati at heart.
“As King, entrusted to lead emaSwati, I pledge to continue to lead with the best interests of the people at heart and in the footsteps of my predecessors,” His Majesty declared. “As we say in our culture, a King will always be King by his people; iNkhosi, yiNkhosi ngebantfu.”
Highlighting the importance of collective effort in driving development, King Mswati III emphasized the significance of unity around a common goal of improving lives and believing in collective potential to effect change within communities.
During the celebration, His Majesty formally presented the nearly completed Sicunusa-Nhlangano road, covering 42.5 kilometers, as one of the flagship infrastructure projects recently undertaken by the Government. Expressing satisfaction with the progress, the King noted that the road’s finishing touches, including road markings, signage, and fencing, are underway.
“We are pleased by the positive update report received that the Sicunusa-Nhlangano highway is almost complete,” His Majesty announced. “What is remaining are the road markings, signage, and fencing. I was encouraged to hear that emaSwati are already using the road, and we have been informed that the feedback from the public is that the road is at par with other highways in the region.”

Looking towards global initiatives, King Mswati III urged the nation to embrace the forthcoming International Peace Day, themed “actions for peace: our commitment to the #globalgoals.” Encouraging a passionate pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), His Majesty emphasized their pivotal role in addressing global issues and fostering peace worldwide.
As the celebration concluded, King Mswati III’s message resonated with hope and unity, reinforcing his dedication to advancing the welfare and prosperity of the people of Eswatini.
