His Majesty King Mswati III says the recent Incwala Ceremony played a huge role in the country’s fight against COVID-19.
His Majesty said this when delivering this year’s Speach from the Throne which marked the official opening of this year’s parliament.
His Majesty King Mswati III thanked the country for successfully hosting the Annual ceremony pointing out that the event is one of the national events that the country cannot miss adding that it also played a huge part in fighting COVID-19 in the country.
“We had it in mind not to make it one of the super-spreaders events and we thank God that the outcomes demonstrated that it contributed more to the fight against the pandemic. Those who attended had to go through screening and testing to ensure that they were not carriers of the virus.”
“In the processes, a number of people who have not known their status discovered sooner that they were infected with the virus and they had to be immediately taken to Centers for treatment. Many have since recovered,” said His Majesty King Mswati III.
His Majesty said it is for that reason that he can confidently say that the Annul Incwala Ceremony contributed in the fight against COVID-19. He said their Majesties are grateful that many of Emaswati attended and celebrated the annual celebration successfully.
