A Member of the Royal Eswatini Police Service identified as Nkululeko Gama has appealed to his colleagues to stop shooting Emaswati.
The police officer took to his Facebook account where he condemned the shooting of civilians allegedly by the law enforcement officers.
“Fellow colleagues, stop shooting our people. Stop it. It isn’t the right thing to do,” read Gama’s post.
He also pleaded with other police officers to always side with the masses reminding them that they swore to serve and protect the people of Swaziland.
“Those you are defending ngekucitsa ingati bataniphika one day. We are warning you, there are no two sides, it’s only the side of the people,” added the officer.
His post come at a time when the Kingdom of Eswatini is rocked by nationwide protest mainly by students and pubic transport operators which has led to a number of people being shot at while one has already been confirmed dead.
