The Public Sector Association (PSAs) has invited all its members to a petition delivery exercise that will take place next week Wednesday in Mbabane.
The exercise will be presided by a public sensitization march that will commence at the Coronation Park in Mbabane at 1000 hours.
The PSAs are the National Public Service and Allied Workers Union (NAPSAWU), the Swaziland National Association of Government Accounting Personnel (SNAGAP), the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT), and the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union (SWADNU).
In a joint statement released by the association, it was revealed that the government workers are not happy with how the Eswatini government treats her employees.
“Our terms and conditions of service, as Government employees, have deteriorated in recent times and the employer is not doing anything to ameliorate the situation”, read the PSAs statement.
The civil servants revealed that they are not happy with how the government is dealing with the salary review exercise. They accused the government of employing delaying tactics to avoid going to the negotiation table. The Associations alleged that they wrote a letter to the government demanding the reconvening of the JNF something the government did not bother to respond to. Other concerns that were raised include trade union-bashing, casualization, and privatization of public service.
It is worth mention that the announcement of the PSAs comes at a time when the country is embroiled with Primary and High School protests.
