
Acting Prime Minister Themba Masuku has announced an extension in the operating hours of shops from 6 pm to 8 pm while the curfew has now relaxed from 8 pm to 11 pm.
The Acting Prime Minister made the announcement in parliament today where he also announced that the changes will be effective from tomorrow.
“The 8 pm curfew has been relaxed to 11 PM with effect from tomorrow, Thursday 11 March 2021 whilst operating hours for shops have been extended from 6 pm to 8 pm,” announced Masuku.
The Acting Prime Minister’s announcement follows a motion that was moved by Members of Parliament calling for the government to reverse her decision of extending the partial lockdown by a further two more weeks.
The MPs called for the government to allow the sale of alcohol, a limited number of people at churches as well as a tentative date for the opening of schools.
However, the government through the Acting Prime Minister only relaxed the curfew hours and operating hours for shops with gatherings and sale of alcohol including Emaganu remain prohibited throughout the country.
