As the ongoing rains as a result of Cyclone Eloise continue, the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) has warned Emaswati to stay away from flooded rivers and not to travel during the curfew hours.

The service released a statement on its Social Media Pages where it listed a number of flooded rivers and accidents or damages that occurred as a result of the ongoing rains.

Among the confirmed accident was the Mndobandoba accident in which the Police service announced that two of the occupants that were in the car were escaped alive while the other two were retrieved “injured”.           

 “Mndobandoba car swept with four occupants. Two escaped alive the other two retrieved with injuries,” read the statement.

Mdobandoba is in the Lubombo region near Matata.

Meanwhile, another car drowned in Mnconcwane in the Lubombo region. Acoording to the REPS’s post, the occupants together with the car were later restored unhurt.

The Police Service also confirmed a number of flooded rivers which include Mbuluzi River, Lusushwana, Bhidlilili, and many more.

As the country continues to experience heavy rains most rivers now flooded.

The Police Service strongly urges the nation to STAY AWAY from these flooded rivers and to remember that there is NO TRAVELLING BETWEEN 8PM – 4AM.
