Eswatini Air, the national airline of Eswatini, has added Cape Town as its fourth destination, effective 2 June 2023. The airline will operate three flights per week between King Mswati III International Airport and Cape Town International Airport on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The flight will depart from Eswatini at 10:20 and arrive in Cape Town at 12:50. The return flight will depart from Cape Town at 13:40 and arrive in Eswatini at 16:10. The airline will use an Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft with a capacity of 50 passengers.

Eswatini Air CEO Qiniso Dhlamini said the new route was part of the airline’s strategy to expand its network and offer more options to its customers.

“We are delighted to launch our service to Cape Town, one of the most popular and beautiful destinations in South Africa. This route will not only serve the leisure and business travelers between Eswatini and Cape Town, but also connect them to other domestic and international destinations via our partner airlines,” he said.

Dhlamini added that the airline was also planning to launch flights to other regional destinations in the near future, such as Lusaka, Maputo and Nairobi.

Eswatini Air started operations on 26 March 2023 with flights to Johannesburg. It later added flights to Harare and Durban in April and May respectively. The airline is a subsidiary of RENAC, a state-owned company that also operates Eswatini Railways and Eswatini Electricity Company.
