The Kingdom of Eswatini is amongst 14 African countries that reached the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) target of fully vaccinating at least 10% of it’s population by the end of September.
The list of the 14 countries was published by the World Health Organisation Africa Region on it’s Social Media Pages on Tuesday.
According to this list, Seychelles is leading after vaccinating about 72% of it’s population. The country had received 198 620 vaccine doses and had administered 148 400.
Meanwhile, the Kingdom of Eswatini was sitting in the 7th position after vaccinating about 16%. 422 030 vaccine doses were donated to the country and has so far administered 222 050.
In an online statement published on the Government Social Media Pages, the Eswatini government acknowledged are more still need to be done in as far as vaccination is concerned in the country.
“We are happy to be among African countries to have reached the WHO’s target to vaccinate at least 10% of our population by the end of September. However, more still need to be done,” read the online statement.
The nation was also advised to continue registering on https://eswatinihealth.org/ to get vaccinated.
