The Innovators Association of Eswatini (IAE) and the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) were recently presented with the National Digitalisation Strategy by the Ministry of ICT, marking a significant step towards fostering innovation and technological advancement in the kingdom.
In a post shared by the Innovators Association of Eswatini, the essence of innovation was explored beyond the conventional understanding of extreme change and disruption. Award-winning author Matt Ridley’s perspective from his book “How Innovation Works” was highlighted, emphasizing the role of freedom, leadership, and good governance in driving innovation.
The post shed light on the often-overlooked aspect of innovation, which requires strong leadership, an optimistic vision of the future, and bold actions. It emphasized that innovation is not solely born out of disruption but also thrives in environments characterized by good governance and visionary leadership.
The unveiling of the National Digitalisation Strategy by the Ministry of ICT signifies a concerted effort by the Eswatini government to create an enabling environment for innovation. The strategy serves as an open call to action for Eswatini youth to collaborate and work together to develop solutions that benefit all citizens and propel the kingdom onto the global stage.
Honourable Minister Savannah Maziya, in her remarks, emphasized the importance of collaboration and urgency in driving forward the digitalisation agenda. She underscored the limitless potential that collaboration holds and the responsibility to harness it for the greater good of society.
As Eswatini embarks on its digitalisation journey, the Ministry of ICT, the Innovators Association of Eswatini, and UNESWA are poised to work hand in hand to drive innovation, empower youth, and build a digitally inclusive future for all citizens.
