While students from over 80 schools are protesting, blocking roads, and vandalizing schools, His Excellency Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini told the world that visitors and investors to the Kingdom of Eswatini will experience the best of Africa in the country.
The Prime Minister has been speaking at the celebration of Eswatini’s National day at the ongoing Expo 2020 in Dubai.
“Despite being the smallest landlocked country in the Southern hemisphere, Eswatini more than makes up for its lack of size with a hugely diverse range of attractions and activities. Our culture and heritage are deeply ingrained in all aspects of Swati lives, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all who visit. More than just a very rich culture, the overwhelming friendliness of emaSwati makes all visitors feel truly welcome and very safe,” said his Excellency.
While on the podium in Dubai, students from various schools across the country filled the country’s road demanding the release of arrested Members of Parliament in Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube. They are also calling for a decent meal at schools, adequate teachers, and free primary and high school education among other demands.
In June 2021, the Kingdom of Eswatini experienced violent protests which resulted in over 80 people dying and destruction of property worth close to E1 Billion.
