Manzini, Eswatini – EswatiniBank’s ShareSha digital wallet has emerged as a leading force in financial inclusion, facilitating over E135 million in transaction volumes since its launch.
The innovative mobile wallet, introduced to drive seamless financial services across the country, is gaining strong traction, especially in underserved areas. According to EswatiniBank Managing Director Nozizwe Mulela, the wallet’s rapid adoption reflects a growing appetite for secure, accessible, and low-cost banking solutions.
“I needed to send money to my rural home in Mankayane but found the process very expensive. That’s when I discovered ShareSha,” said one user. “Now I send money instantly, and my mother withdraws it at the nearby ShareSha agent.”
EswatiniBank’s ShareSha platform supports everyday financial needs—money transfers, airtime purchases, bill payments, and more—while maintaining zero monthly fees. Mulela emphasized that the wallet is specifically designed to empower unbanked populations and promote financial inclusion.
“The E135 million milestone shows the public’s confidence in our solution,” Mulela said. “We’re proud of the impact ShareSha is having in connecting communities to formal financial services.”
Strategic Growth and Expansion
The wallet’s popularity stems from its user-centric features, including simplified onboarding and a wide network of agent locations nationwide. Users can register using only a national ID and mobile number, bypassing traditional banking requirements.
EswatiniBank is also ramping up efforts to digitize payments in local markets, public transport, and rural businesses, with ShareSha being positioned as a trusted alternative to cash.
“We want to reach the last mile,” Mulela added. “From spaza shops to kombi drivers, everyone should be able to accept and make digital payments.”
Looking ahead, EswatiniBank is investing in enhancements to the platform, including merchant tools and partnerships with utility service providers to allow bill payments and top-ups directly from the wallet.
As Eswatini accelerates its digital transformation journey, ShareSha continues to stand out as a homegrown success story driving inclusive finance.
