Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo has officially launched plans to establish two factory shells worth E55 Million.

The two factory shells which will house the FTM Garmets will be located at Gamula under the Lubombo Region and Mantambe in the Shiselweni Region.

Speaking during the official launch, Minister Manqoba Khumalo revealed that the factories are part of the Government’s efforts to bringing development to rural communities and create employment opportunities at grassroots level, in line with the findings of the poverty partication assessment.

“During His Speech from the Throne, His Majesty requested that factory shells be taken to rural areas. We will make sure that this happens smoothly, on time & within budget & that locals are employed in them. We thank Their Majesties for their support of these projects,” said Khumalo.

Khumalo expressed that the government believes that new entrepreneurs will be born and local civilians will be employed. He added that development should not only be confined to urban areas but should also be decentralized.
