Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo and the Minister of Sports Harris Madze Bulunga have assured the nation that they will work swiftly to address issues surrounding the Mavuso Sports Centre’s ability to host international football matches.
CAF recently banned Mavuso Sports Centre from hosting international games citing that the stadium no longer conforms to the CAF Stadium Requirements to host international games.
Today, both the Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade and Minister of Sports toured the Mavuso Facility where they also assured the nation that the government will address the issues that were raised by African Footbal Body.
Speaking after the tour, Minister Khumalo revealed that his Ministry has now been briefed about the issues surrounding the venue as well as what needs to be fixed.
“Ours now as Government is to sit down and look at the issue comprehensively together with other stakeholders and how we can quickly fix this,” said Khumalo.
Meanwhile, Minister Madze Bulunga vouched to work hand in hand with the Ministry of Commerce to find a lasting solution for the stadium.
