MTN SWAMA Award 2020 Best Maskandi album of the year nominee Shobalevangeli real name Sphamandla Buhlebuyeza Dlamini has reportedly died while in a South African hospital where he was being treated for injuries he sustained during a fire accident.

News on Africa Eswatini Edition has gathered that Dlamini was quickly rushed to hospital few days ago after fire blazed one of the Hostels in Johannesburg resulting in a number of fatal cases. Dlamini was one of the residents in this hostel.

However, the injuries sustained during the fire incident caught up with him as he was certified death few days after being admitted.

Reached for comment, Multi-Award-winning Maskandi artist Majalibhunu confirmed the death of the artist saying that the Maskandi industry is still shocked about the news of Dlamini’s death. He said they were still expecting a lot from Dlamini in the industry. He sent his condolences to Dlamini’s family and the art industry for the untimely demise of the younger star.

Shobalevangeli made his debut in the Maskandi industry in 2019 with his album titled Mr. Shelembe, the same album that bagged him the MTN SWAMA Award nomination. He recently released his second album titled “Ngathatha Umsakazi”.

He shared a stage with a number of big South African artist including Award-Winning Buselaphi, Igeza Lakwa Mgube, Bonakele, Bobo Umfana Wepiki, Abangani Bakhe and Umbuzeni to mention but just a few.
