The Minister of Health Lizzi Nkosi has announced a slight delay in the arrival of the 500 000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses that were expected this week.
The Minister of was speaking during a press briefing on Thursday where he also assured Emaswati who took the first doses that new vaccines will arrive in the country in the next two weeks.
“We would also like to assure the Nation that the guideline from AstraZeneca for the timeframe between the first & second dose is 12 weeks. The dates that the Ministry of Health shared for the second dose were deliberately set at 10 weeks to allow time for us to reach everyone who required the second dose,” said the Minister.
She said the Eswatini government is still intensifying efforts to secure more vaccines utilizing the available E200 million fund.
