Last week, the MTN Foundation demonstrated its commitment to community development by handing over a significant water project valued at E100,000 to the residents of Ezulwini, a vibrant community in Eswatini.
Supporting the Community
The water project, aimed at improving access to clean and safe water, is expected to benefit a total of 2,485 homesteads within the Ezulwini area. The official handover ceremony took place at the Ezulwini Inkhundla last Thursday, marking a milestone in the community’s quest for improved infrastructure and services.
Distinguished Guests
The event was attended by esteemed guests, including Attorney General Sifiso Mashampu Khumalo, Indvuna Ndlavela Mavimbela, and MTN’s Head of Corporate Services, Sibusiso Nhleko. Representatives from the Buhle Belizulu Water and Sanitation Scheme, tasked with overseeing the project on behalf of the community, were also present to witness the auspicious occasion.
MTN’s Commitment to Giving Back

During his address, Sibusiso Nhleko emphasized MTN Eswatini’s commitment to giving back to the communities that have supported the organization for over 25 years. He underscored the importance of community engagement and collaboration, highlighting Ezulwini’s significance as the location of MTN’s head offices.
“We are very happy to be handing over this very important project worth E100,000, and we believe it will assist about 2,485 homesteads,” stated Nhleko, reflecting on the positive impact the initiative would have on the community’s daily lives.
Collaborative Efforts
Enoch Ndada, Chairperson of Buhle Belizulu, echoed Nhleko’s sentiments, emphasizing the project’s reach across eight sub-communities within Ezulwini. He expressed gratitude to the MTN Foundation for their support and urged continued collaboration for future projects.
Acknowledging Contributions
Inkhundla representative Steven Dlamini extended his appreciation to the MTN Foundation and recognized the contribution of Big Game Parks towards the success of the project.

Master of Ceremonies, Greg Khumalo, emphasized the importance of ongoing support for MTN, highlighting the organization’s role in job creation and economic empowerment within the community.
