The Eswatini Government has officially communicated that the payment of student allowances for the academic year 2023/2024, specifically for the month of December, will be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. This announcement was made through a press statement released by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Security, responsible for overseeing the Government Scholarship Programme (PTET) supporting students in local tertiary institutions, shared the information with all affected students. The delay in the disbursement of allowances is attributed to unforeseen circumstances, and the government is actively working in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance to expedite the process.
In the press statement, the Ministry assured students that further communication regarding the payment would be provided in due course. The government emphasized its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of students and acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the delay. Students were requested to cooperate, and the Ministry expressed regret for any inconveniences caused.
As students and stakeholders await additional updates, the Ministry’s proactive approach in addressing the delay and commitment to communication aims to ease concerns and ensure that the disbursement process is concluded efficiently.
