The Royal Eswatini Police Service allegedly assaulted Eswatini Observer journalist Sifiso Dlamini during Thabani Nkomonye’s memorial service that was rudely interrupted by the police who fired teargas to disperse the mourners yesterday.
Dlamini who was assisting his colleagues on the assignment was allegedly ordered by the police to stop taking pictures.
After explaining that he was with the Eswatini Observer team, he was asked aside by the officers who then demanded that he hand over his cell phone which he refused.
It has been reported that he was dragged inside the Fairview Police Post where one of them allegedly hit him with a baton on the head
