Teachers through their union, the Swaziland National Association of Teachers have distanced themselves from the document suggesting that schools will resume for the 23rd of February 2021 with teachers starting on 16 February for preparation and monitoring.
As reported by this publication, The Ministry of Education and Training has forwarded a proposal to the cabinet requesting to resume schools as per the aforementioned date.
To that effect, SNAT took to its Twitter account and disassociated itself from this plan pointing out that nothing was discussed with them together with the Education Clutter.
“There’s nothing substantive that has been discussed by the MoET (Ministry of Education and Training) with us on the below. We totally disassociate ourselves from this so-called plan by few individuals from the MoET,” read the post by the Teacher’s Association.
The Association also revealed that they will be meeting with their line Ministry today to discuss such.
