His Excellency Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini has announced that the country’s security forces will intensify security patrols during curfew hours for the interest of protecting the country’s property and the lives of the nation.
The Prime Minister has been speaking during a press briefing at the Cabinet offices on Thursday where he was addressing the recent sporadic spate of schools and continued touching of Tinkhundla Centers in the country.
This publication has gathered that at least 16 Tinkhundla Centers around the country were burnt between June and September 2021.
Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini speaking during the press briefing said the government is concern and worries about the recent events of the arson attacks on the country’s infrastructure especially Tinkhundla Centers. He reminded the nation that the Tinkhundla Centers serve as an agency for development.
He said important community records including records of payment of elderly grants are kept at these centers, adding that it is for that reason that Chiefs and Communities should be more concerned about the ongoing arson attacks.
“One expects that the community would know these perpetrators. What are we doing about it as a community? Why are parents quiet about this horrible behavior? Do not allow your area to lag behind in development by refusing to speak out. Going forward, the Security Forces will tighten their patrol during curfew hours. Any inconvenience to the public is regretted but worth it in the interest of security for all of us,” appealed the Prime Minister.
Dlamini said Emaswati are known for their mutual respect and tolerance for each other.
“The peaceful settlement of disputes is our way of doing things. The country was on an upward recovery path before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Considerable progress had been achieved in roads infrastructure, agricultural infrastructure and the level of employment was improving although by no means satisfactory,” added His Excellency.
