Eswatini Prime Minister His Excellency Cleopas Dlamini say those who want change in the country should partake in the 2023 elections and vote for change.
His Excellency was speaking on CNN during an interview where he was also asked what his message was towards people protesting for constitutional and political reform in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
“Well, my message is that, if you are agitating for change, we are going to the polls in 2023. That is your opportunity to go there and vote for change. If you will succeed, you will put the right members of parliament and those are the people that will go through the political system and introduce the changes you want ” said Dlamini.
Dlamini said, just like in any country, the constitution is a primary law of the country. He added that what the international community the images that they see on television are exaggerated images as 80% of Emaswati still favors the status quo.
Of note, two elected members of parliament Mduduzi Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube who were advocating for political reforms in the Kingdom of Eswatini are currently languishing being bars while Siphofaneni MP Mduduzi Simelane went to exile after his warrant of arrest was issued.
On another note, the current parliament Speaker Honorable Petros Mavimbela who is an elected MP of Mhlambanyatsi constituency has been accused several times of frustrating pro-democracy bills and debates in parliament.
