World Vision in Eswatini in partnership with World Food Programme has successfully distributed food parcels to 42 198 beneficiaries in the month of March.

This is according to a statement that was released by World Vision through its Official Facebook page where it was revealed that the beneficiaries were from 5 constituencies being; Lubulini, Mpoolonjeni, Dvokodvweni, Lugongolweni, and Mkhiweni.

“Most of these beneficiaries have been affected by drought because of lack of enough rains in these areas. In places like Mpolonjeni in the Lubombo region, they last had a good harvest over 20 years ago,” detailed the statement.

Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries identifies as Anna Hlongwane  reportedly sent her appreciation for the donation.

“We are grateful to get this food. I live with 19 children and most of them are orphans. During summer we go around the fields to get green okra (Ligusha) and sell it in Manzini market and during winter we really suffer. Some days we sleep without food and sometimes we ask our neighbors for food. Receiving this food is like a miracle and it will last us over a month because we now cook once a day,” narrated the beneficiary as reported in the statement.
