Her Majesty Queen Mantombi, daughter of His Majesty King Sobhuza II and regent of the Zulu Nation has died.
The News of her death was confirmed by the Zulu Nation Prime Minister Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi on Thursday who expressed that the passing of the regent took the Zulu Royal House by surprise.
“It is with the deepest shock and distress that the royal family announces the unexpected passing of Her Majesty Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, regent of the Zulu nation. This has taken us by surprise and left us utterly bereft. It is true that the Lord alone knows the days that He has allotted to each one of us.”
Buthelezi also assured the Zulu Nation that there will be no vacuum in the Zulu Nation Leadership despite the death of the regent.
