Dups Holdings has announced that it has adjusted some prizes for services offered by the company due to the increase in COVID-19 fatalities in the country.

The company released an official notice on Friday, notifying its customer’s about the adjusted prizes.

“In light of the surge in COVID-19 infections and subsequent deaths, we have had to beef our protection measures for both our staff and customers. The traditional safety measures have resulted in the following price adjustments to our service,” read the notice.

The company announced that customers will now be required to pay an administration fee of E500.  The company said this will be a permanent fee that covers the funeral registration process, tagging as well as a sheet. In addition, customers will now be offered a pack of 5 sanitizers, 5 pairs of gloves, and 5 masks.

Secondly, the company announced that there is now a COVID-19 Fee set at E2 500. This figure will cover body bag forCOVID-19 confirmed cases, PPE, fumigation of facility and cars bleach cleaning of the mortuary, and sanitizing customers. However, the company announced that the COVID-19 fee will be scrapped once COVID-19 subsided.

The company advised its customers that the two figures are already in place as they were effected few weeks ago.

“All bodies are handled as if they are COVID-19 cases because they are kept in the same mortuary facility with COVID-19 bodies. Entrance into the mortuary facility irrespective of the cause of death requires total dress up for COVID-19,” read the notice.
