Emaswati will not be able to buy electricity units from 12 midnight on Saturday the 27th February to 4 am on Monday the 1st March 2021, News on Africa Eswatini Edition learned through a Public Notice that was issued by the Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC).
According to this notice, the utility supplier will be going through a system update during the aforementioned date, an upgrade that will affect both EEC’s prepaid system and third party vendors.
“EEC customers are advised that we are undergoing a version upgrade of our prepaid electricity vending platform to further improve our service to the customer.”
“As part of this upgrade, the Pre-paid system will not be available from 12 midnight on Saturday the 27th of February to 4 am on Monday on the 1st March 2021,”
“The system downtime will affect both the EEC Pre-paid and third-party vendors meaning that all customers will not be able to pay electricity units during this period, “read the Public Notice.
Meanwhile, EEC customers were strongly advised to purchase enough electricity units to last them for the duration of the system upgrade.
