Four Cabinet Members will now hold or oversee 2 ministries each, following the appointment of Pholile Shakantu and Moses Vilakati as the Minister of Labor and Social Security as well as Minister of Public Service respectively.
The duo was appointed by Acting Prime Minister Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku on command of His Majesty King Mswati III.
Pholile Shakantu who has been appointed as the Acting Minister of Labor and Social Security also serve on the current cabinet as the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
Meanwhile, Moses Vilakati who has been appointed Acting Minister of Public Service is also the current Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs.
Both Acting Minister’s were reportedly confirmed by the Government’s spokesperson Sabelo Dlamini and they are taking over from Makhosi Vilakati and Christian Ntshangase who both died in one month due to COVID-19 related illnesses.
Other cabinet members that are currently serving on two portfolios are the Acting Prime Minister Themba Masuku who assumed duties for the late Prime Minister Ambrose Dlamini who also passed away due to COVID-19 related illnesses in December.
Meanwhile, Manqoba Khumalo who is the Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade is also overseeing the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology, a ministry he has been overseeing for close to a year now while Her Royal Higness Princess Sikhanyiso is still on special leave.
