Baphalali Red Cross has revealed that it is currently conducting an assessment in communities around the country and is providing relief materials to households that were affected by Cyclone Eloise.

The Society released a statement on its Social Media Platforms on Tuesday where it also urged communities close to flooded plains to constantly monitor the river banks.

“Communities close flooded plains are encouraged to constantly monitor river banks. Hoses that are collapsing should be vacated because they can cause injuries and sometimes fatalities,” read the statement.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) issued a preliminary report showing about 1 410 people from 266 households who were affected by the heavy rains.
