The Honourable Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Moses Vilakati has extended the Phatsa Sakho Nawe campaign by an additional two days effective from 4th February 2021.
This means single-use plastics will now not be issued from Thursday to Monday.
Phatsa Sakho Nawe is a campaign that was launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs in partnership with the United Nation Development Program (UNDP) on the 25th November 2020. The campaign is aimed at reducing the single-use of plastic bags in the country as they pose danger to the environment.
Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Moses Vilakati in a brief statement that was released yesterday pleaded with Retailers and consumers to cooperate with the campaign.
