
South African Union has invited all Eswatini’s progressive unions to a protest action that will be held at the Oshoek Border Gate today (11 March 2018).
According to the Times of Swaziland, NEHAWU in conjunction with the Communist Party of Swaziland announced their Mpumalanga Provincial biggest march that is billed for 11 am today. The protest will be stage for the release of Amos Mbedzi and all other alleged political prisoners in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
Mbedzi was sentenced to 85 years imprisonment without an option of a fine in 2012, after being found guilty of plotting to plant a bomb at a bridge leading to Lozitha Royal Palace in 2008. Speaking to the Times of Swaziland, government spoke person Percy Simelane responded by stating that the Kindom of Eswatini does not have any political prisoners. Simelane further stated that Amos Mbedzi was serving time for being found guilty of murder and being found in possession of explosive without a permit.
