Mbabane – The Minister of ICT, Hon. Savannah Maziya, delivered a powerful keynote address yesterday at the MTN Unique Contributors Ceremony, calling on citizens and stakeholders to adopt a culture of excellence while driving innovation, connectivity, and people-first solutions.
Minister Maziya emphasized that this spirit of excellence is central to the Kingdom of Eswatini’s journey toward achieving First World status, a vision championed by Their Majesties.
“This culture will drive the Kingdom of Eswatini to reach First World status, as envisioned by Their Majesties,” she said.
Celebrating Financial Inclusion
The Minister praised MTN Eswatini for its significant role in advancing financial inclusion across the country. With 63% of adults now part of the formal financial system, MTN’s mobile money and digital payment solutions are helping to transform everyday lives.

She highlighted real-world impacts—from grandmothers in rural areas receiving pensions without the need for long journeys, to young entrepreneurs being empowered to accept instant payments, fueling business growth and community development.
Alignment with Government’s Digital Agenda
Minister Maziya further underscored how MTN’s initiatives align with the Government’s “Government in Your Hand” program, which aims to:
- Bridge the digital divide
- Expand nationwide broadband access
- Strengthen innovation ecosystems
- Build digital skills for the future
“Your achievements do not just win awards,” she told honorees. “They touch lives, transform futures, and bring our national vision closer to reality.”
Applauding the Award Recipients
The ceremony concluded with congratulations to all MTN award recipients, whose contributions reflect both corporate excellence and meaningful impact on the lives of ordinary emaSwati.
