The Eswatini Standards Authority (Eswasa) has invited businesses, industry players, and policymakers to its Standards Seminar 2026, themed “Unlocking Export Markets for Local Business through Standards and Quality Compliance.” The seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, 01 April 2026, from 07:00 to 10:00, and will be streamed live on Eswasa’s official Facebook page.
The power-packed half-day event is designed to bring together a cross-section of stakeholders — from government and the private sector to regional and international standards bodies — to unpack how standards and certification can serve as strategic tools for expanding export opportunities and strengthening the competitiveness of Eswatini’s local businesses.
The seminar will feature presentations and insights from a distinguished lineup of organisations, including the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), ASD Medical, the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), and the African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO). Together, these stakeholders will cover a wide range of critical topics, including export market potential, the role of standards in facilitating international trade, regional perspectives on product recognition and harmonisation, and real industry experiences on achieving certification success.
A key highlight of the programme will be a policy address from the Honourable Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, expected to outline government’s direction on standards, quality compliance, and the broader agenda for growing Eswatini’s export economy.
For local businesses eyeing regional and international markets, the seminar presents a timely and practical opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge on what it takes to meet the quality and compliance requirements demanded by export destinations — and how Eswasa and its partners can support that journey.
The event will be broadcast live on Eswasa’s Facebook page for those unable to attend in person: https://lnkd.in/deFVUDYs
