Well known Swazi gay has been revealed as the Master of Ceremony (MC) for the first ever Eswatini Gay Parade schedules for this Saturday.
The event that has already been cleared by the Royal Eswatini Police is themed turning fear into love and will see local and international gays parading at the Prince of Wales stadium with Frankie Dlamini being the Master of Ceremony. The inaugural gay parade will be graced by the presence of sex workers in the country and USA Ambassador Lisa Peterson just to name a few.
Speaking to the Swazi Observer, the USA Ambassador to Swaziland, Lisa Peterson stated that the parade has sparked an international buzz. She said the gender nondiscrimination provision of the constitution should be protected for the right of LGBTI. She further clarified that the embassy will continue to look to partner with civil society organisations as they address issues.
Communication officer and organizer of the first Eswatini Pride Melusi Simelane voiced out that the event is going to be a festival of celebrating diversity, a carnival of activities that includes entertainment, as well as opportunities for entrepreneurs to money on the day.
Voice of Our Voices , an organisation of vulnerable woman expressed their happiness towards the parade further stating that they will show their support to it. The organisation further stated that they had a same fair share with the societal stereotype
but the voiced out that they are happy that the Police in the country okayed the event.
