Manqoba Khumalo Launches 57th Eswatini International Trade Fair in Manzini

Manzini, May 16, 2025 – The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, officially inaugurated the preparations for the 57th Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) today at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre. Organized by the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), this year’s fair is themed “Digital Transformation 2.0: Creating Business Networks.”

In his opening remarks, Minister Khumalo underscored the importance of the EITF as a cornerstone of Eswatini’s economic calendar. “As we embrace Digital Transformation 2.0, we are reaffirming our commitment to modernizing trade and fostering deeper connections between businesses and consumers,” he said. Khumalo encouraged exhibitors and visitors alike to leverage the Fair’s digital platforms to forge lasting partnerships and drive innovation across all sectors.

Sibani Mngomezulu, CEO of EIPA, highlighted the Fair’s role as a dynamic interface between the public and private sectors. “The EITF provides an unparalleled opportunity for companies to showcase products, engage in live demonstrations, and expand their networks,” Mngomezulu stated. She further announced that beyond the business pavilions, attendees can look forward to family-friendly entertainment modules and competitive soccer matches, designed to make the Fair an inclusive, all-ages event.

First launched in 1968 under the name Swaziland Independence Exhibition, the EITF has evolved into one of Eswatini’s premier economic showcases. Over the decades, it has drawn exhibitors from around the globe, with confirmed participation this year from the United States, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Portugal, and South Africa. Local enterprises and startups are likewise expected to feature prominently, signaling robust engagement from across the region.

Preparations are now underway to transform the Mavuso Centre into a hub of trade and innovation for the Fair’s October 2025 opening. With its blend of high-tech showcases, business networking opportunities, and cultural attractions, the 57th EITF promises to strengthen Eswatini’s position as a forward-looking trade destination and foster new avenues for economic growth.
