The anticipation is palpable as the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Hon. Phila Buthelezi, officially announced the forthcoming ISSA Seminar, set to be hosted by the Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) from April 22 to 24. The event will bring together key social security partners in the country, including the Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF), Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (MVA), Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

During a press conference attended by prominent stakeholders, including ENPF Board Chairman Mduduzi Gina, Acting CEO Futhi Tembe, and her entire executive team, Minister Buthelezi unveiled plans for the seminal event. The Minister highlighted the significance of the seminar in advancing social security initiatives and fostering collaboration among industry leaders.

With an impressive lineup of esteemed guests, Minister Buthelezi revealed that approximately 100 distinguished delegates from 25 countries are expected to attend. Among the notable figures gracing the event are Mr. Marcello Abi-Ramia Caetano, Secretary General of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), Mr. Patrick Ayota, ISSA East African Region Chairman, and Hon. Lindiwe Zulu, South Africa’s Minister of Social Development.

The ISSA Seminar promises to be a forum for robust discussions and knowledge exchange on critical issues shaping the future of social security. Participants will delve into topics such as innovative strategies for enhancing social protection, addressing emerging challenges in pension systems, and leveraging technology for effective service delivery.

As the host institution, ENPF is committed to facilitating meaningful dialogue and sharing best practices with international counterparts. The seminar represents a significant milestone in Eswatini’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its social security framework and ensure the well-being of its citizens.
