This endeavor forms part of the government’s ongoing commitment to advancing digital inclusion and broadening access to information across the nation. These efforts align with the government’s overarching objectives of promoting education, fostering innovation, and driving economic growth.

Addressing the students, Minister Maziya emphasized the transformative potential of the laptops, urging them to leverage these tools to broaden their horizons and enhance their learning experiences. She remarked, “As you take your careers forward, you have been given these computers to open your eyes, to see the world through these computers. Make sure you use them for the greater good. Make sure they enrich you with knowledge and make you leaders.”
Minister of Education, Owen Nxumalo, represented by his office, highlighted the myriad benefits that the provision of laptops will bring to both students and educators. Learners will be equipped with essential digital literacy skills, granting them easy access to a wealth of educational resources, including research tools, digital encyclopedias, and online learning platforms. Meanwhile, teachers will utilize the technology to enhance lesson delivery, facilitate interactive learning experiences, and conduct research to enrich their teaching practices.
The distribution of laptops to schools underscores the government’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to thrive in the digital age. By equipping schools with essential technology tools, the government aims to empower students to excel academically, foster innovation, and contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.
